  1. Was the first actor, ever, to play a Ferengi on "Star Trek", as "Letek" on the Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) episode, Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Last Outpost (1987). Five years later, he was offered the role of "Quark" on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993), the first Ferengi character in the main cast of any Star Trek series and a role that he would play for seven years.
  2. In Judging Amy (1999), he played a lawyer who was trying to argue that demons exist. His Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997) character, Principal Snyder, was eaten by a demon.
  3. Was on the set of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) during a large earthquake in Los Angeles. He rushed to go home to check on his family, so he did not have time to get his makeup removed. His Ferengi makeup "scared the living shit out of people" as he says at conventions.
