Interesting Facts about Dennis Haskins
- Was a contestant on the TV game show Scrabble (1984) during the mid-eighties.
- Member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the University of Tennessee/Chattanooga.
- He is the namesake of an annual High School Academic Bowl tournament held every Spring by the Academic Trivia Association at his Alma Mater, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Unlike other celebrities who have been similarly honored, Dennis is genuinely flattered by this distinction and has been very gracious to the UTC ATA and has even provided autographed materials that have been given away to the teams and officials at the tournament. While he has not yet been able to find the time in his busy schedule to make an appearance at the tournament, it is heavily attended and is one of the most anticipated academic competitions of the year.
- Grew a mustache to lose the appeal of his character Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell (1989).
- He has played the same character (Principal Richard Belding) in seven different series: Good Morning, Miss Bliss (1987), Saved by the Bell (1989), Saved by the Bell: The College Years (1993), Saved by the Bell: The New Class (1993), The Rerun Show (2002), Robot Chicken (2005) and Victorious (2010).
- He was the only regular cast member of Saved by the Bell: The New Class (1993) to remain with the series throughout its entire run.
- Lives in Anaheim, California.
- Often puts seeming random references to Chattanooga or Tennessee in his dialogue during TV shows or movies, but the references are intentional: Haskins is from Chattanooga and says them as a shout-out to his beloved hometown.
- Haskins wore #54 while playing basketball for Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
