  2. In a 1996 poll celebrating the 50th anniversary of the NBA, Patrick Ewing was selected as one of the 50 Greatest Players in the history of the NBA.
  3. On December 20, 1997, Ewing suffered a season-ending wrist injury when he collided with the Milwaukee Buck's Andrew Lang. After spending more than five months on the sidelines, Ewing made his return to the court on Thursday, May 7th, 1998, against the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
  4. Played nearly his entire professional basketball career with the New York Knicks. After 15 seasons and 1,039 games with the New York Knicks, Ewing parted ways with the team and was traded to the Seattle Supersonics in 2000-2001.
  5. Two-time Olympic gold medalist in men's basketball, in 1984 in L.A. and 1992 in Barcelona (as part of the celebrated original Dream Team).
