Interesting Facts about Rick Ducommun
- Also starred along with Bill Reiter in the Canadian kids show ZigZag produced by BCTV during the 1980s. The two were known as "Biff and Bart" (earlier in the series as Mr. Cool and Mr. Nerdo) and both had their own sidekick puppets named appropriately, Little Biff and Little Bart. While the show ZigZag primarily featured informative segments for kids hosted by "special guest star" Terry David Mulligan or co-host Marilyn Smith, the Biff and Bart show started out only as a 2 minute "filler" segment. Over the years, it ultimately took control of the entire 30 minute show, and the resulting episodes became classics of clubhouse tv. ZigZag was shot in Vancouver, BC.
- Resided in Ontario, Canada, with his wife Lauren and 3 kids.
- Rick and his brother Peter started the legendary Canadian skateboard company, Skull Skates, in the late 1970s. The company was then called Great North Country Skateboards. The company is now the sole property of Peter.
- Died in a hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, after suffering complications from diabetes.
