- She was originally cast as "Mary", the infamous "Sixth Replicant" in Blade Runner (1982), but due to the film's escalating budget, her part was cut just before shooting began.
- Her romantic relationship with Woody Allen when she was still a teenager inspired Allen's movie Manhattan (1979) -- Mariel Hemingway's role "Tracy" is based on Nelkin.
- Ex-daughter-in-law of Bud Bostwick.
